First Trustees of the Hall

Unfortunately we do not have a great deal of information about the first set Trustees who were on the committee that ran the hall from 1902 however we can tell you that:-

 

E A C Abbot was the Chair of the Committee for quite a while and was a Manager to a Shipowner, He lived at St Mary’s Lodge in Woodford

William R Peppiat was the Honorary Secretary until 1914 when he died. He was a General Manager at L N W Railway and lived at “Magland” in Derby Road Essex.

William Savage’s was a South African Merchant and was born in South Africa He definitely lived in Woodford but I cannot find his exact address.

William Fox who was born in 1846, lived in George Lane and was a Silk Manufacturer

Robert Reuben Mattock Billings lived at Westbury in Chelmsford Road and died on the 13th March 1929.  He was a Manager of a Wine Merchants business.

Arthur H Church (Hon Secretary) lived at “Inglenook”  Wavertree Road, Woodford and he was an Architect
