Additional Information:

Born in 1889 at Leytonstone, son of George Norman (Assistant Examiner at HM Office of Works) and Grace Philips. His will gives an address of Elizabeth Lodge, Crescent Road South Woodford. Educated at Leyton College, he became a Surveyor, holding post of Assistant Surveyor to the Metropolitan Police. A keen tennis player and member of the Woodford Hockey Club, he was also Scoutmaster to the 2nd Epping Forest Troop, and member of the Church of England Mens Society.

Initially joined the London Scottish, but after training was commissioned into the 6th Essex where he was Assistant Adjutant. Left for Egypt in 06-16, and was Killed in Action near Gaza.
