The Hall and WW1

Woodford Memorial Hall  had only been in existence for 12 years at the onset of World War I.

We can see from the minutes and correspondence that the Trustees and Users of the Memorial Hall not only undertook acts to assist the soldiers at the front but also supported their colleague Mr Heath when he took up his colours and joined up.  Due to the War the hall almost closed but even in the short period of its existence it had established itself and was already an integral part of the Woodford Community.
